Is the collaboration of fine laydies who said “Dyke cuntry music? Hell Yeah!”
Sassy and sultry gender-flipped country, bluegrass and blues classics with a twist or two. About as wholesome and pure as any group of Canadian lesbians can be. Suitable for audiences that bat for any softball team you like.
Bushy Park Philosophy
My philosophy is simple: It’s a down-home, common, horse-sense approach to things. – Dolly Parton
Bushy Park is a Vancouver-based dyke-country band. In Bushy Park we believe, like Dolly Parton in being kind, having fun and building community across the divides. We believe in the power of country music to help all people, gay and straight and queer and trans and every one else, have fun, sing along and feel good together. Like Dolly, we want to wear what we want, sing what makes us feel good, tell stories about what matters to us, and build community through country music.
Bushy Park are mostly cis, queer/lesbian women settlers, living in and around Vancouver Canada.
As Dolly says – “You gotta keep trying to find your niche and trying to fit into whatever slot that’s left for you or to make one of your own.” This is ours.
