Bushy Park Philosophy

Bushy Park is Vancouver’s best dyke-country band. We play gender flipped country and folk classics and openly queer originals. In Bushy Park we believe, like Dolly Parton in being kind, having fun and building community across the divides. We believe in the power of country music to help all people have fun, sing along and feel good together. Like Dolly, we want to wear what we want, sing what makes us feel good, tell stories about what matters to us, and build community through country music.

Bushy Park are queer and lesbian settlers, living in and around Vancouver Canada.

As Dolly says – “You gotta keep trying to find your niche and trying to fit into whatever slot that’s left for you or to make one of your own.” This is ours.
